27/03/2015 -
Porsche and Toyota have worked for a long in the course of the first session of the WEC tests, carried out in the morning on the Castellet circuit and complicated by the presence of a strong Mistral wind that blew at times with gusts up to 80 km/h. While the two Audi R18 have spent much of the four hours inside the box, the crews of the two teams opponents drove a lot, recording the absolute best times under one minute and forty seconds. Great difficulty in the CLM, long in the pits and uncompetitive enough to be overtaken by a number of P2.
Just between them some of the most expected, with KCMG Oreca 05 who in only 12 laps setting the best time, and especially the Dome of the team Strakka, finally on track in an official test after the homologation problems of the last season. Kene and Leventis alternated with respectable lap times, demonstrating the potential that had already glimpsed in private testing at Imola. Many teams, given the wind, chose not to go out on the track, while the Extreme Speed Motorsport run the old HPD 03B, waiting to receive the Ligier for the start of the season.
Great balance in GTPro, with five of the six berlinettas engaged enclosed in five tenths of a second. In front of everyone Bruni, a few thousandths ahead of Pilet, Makowiecki and Christensen, three Porsche drivers.
On Am, the Aston Martin of Stuart Hall was quicker than Porsche driver’ Bachler and Collard with Ferrari.
In the afternoon, the second session of four hours.
