On Saturday 18 June 2011, at the National Automobile Museum of Torino there was the official presentation of the P4/5 "Competizione", the GT car designed by Paolo Garella on the basis of the Ferrari 430 Scuderia, commissioned by Jim Glickenhaus, the ex Hollywood movie producer in view of the participation at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring, This event took place at the presence of Bartolomeo Giachino, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructures & Transports, Giovanni Maria Ferraris the president of the City Council of Torino, the top management of the Museum, while on behalf of the team there were Glickenhaus, Garella and Fabrizio Giovanardi, one of the pilots. The car exposed in the courtyard of the Museum is the second P4/5 built, since the first one was designed by Pininfarina in 2005 and exhibited on the 18th August 2006 at the Concours d'Elégance of Pebble Beach but, in that case, its chassis was Ferrari Enzo's , fact that for obvious reasons wouldn't allow any entry for race.
Deliberately resembling the Ferrari P3/4, yet bought and restored by the American movie producer after a fire which broke out at the Le Mans 24 hours, the P4/5 Competizione will race in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring under the City of Turin and of its National Automobile Museum sponsors image shown on the unpainted chassis and it will be driven by Giovanardi, Cappellari, Larini and Salo, with the target to finish among the first six positions. For the moment the long runs and the 6 hours of Nurburgring of mid-May have given good results, even if we have to remark a certain lack in terms of engine.
