Back from the weekend in Navarra we have repeated to ourselves up to get tired: the lack of the success of this event shouldn’t be enquired into the formula which distinguishes itself, moreover, formerly tested with best results last autumn at Paul Ricard’s, but into the decision on its taking place on a circuit too new to draw some gentlemen drivers who are greedy for those emotions which can be only guaranteed by the temples of motor racing. Constructed among the gentle hills to the South of Pamplona, surrounded by cornfields growing as far as the eye can see, notwithstanding the good intentions of Navarra government, the circuit doesn’t provide any particularly interesting ...

He, who knows Patrick Peter as a promoter of motor race events, knows very well how quality has always been his main target, confirmed by the excellent results obtained by Le Mans Series and Le Mans Classic races from the last few years. Thus, when at the beginning of the year, he had to think of a new formula for the Endurance Racing reserved to historic cars, which are being developed in the years to come, that celebrated the 40th Paul Ricard’s anniversary, the most beautiful French circuit, he decided to appeal to some of the most famous categories of international historic motor races, to place the new ones next to them, purposely created for this event. Beside CER categories by now ...

The race was organised as the third qualifying practice of the championship “2010 Group C Racing”, but it was officially run as the second one after postponing Portimao race because of logistic problems due to Eyjafjallajakul eruption: this race, which framed the 24 Hours of Le Mans, was certainly the most eagerly waited by the drivers and the fans of this category.
In the entry list, beyond the most well known and successful prototypes such as Jaguars XJR9 and XJR11, Mercedes C11, Porsche 962 and Nissan R90CK, there were also the private cars that were able to cut out their moments of glory, among them a great number of Spices.
The single qualifying envisaged session was raced ...

To give hospitality to the third meeting of the 2010 C.E.R. has been the "Autodromo Nazionale di Monza", the last true speed temple of the old continent. British Paul Knapfield was the great absent driver, the recent Spa winner, who wasn't in the entry list of the 55 entrant drivers, while we had to point out Stefano Rosina's pleasant return, this time at the wheel of his Lola T380, that was in the 1975 entried by Jolly Club at 1000 km of Spa and Nürburgring driven by Brambilla-Pianta: this model, powered by a tree-litre Dfy, was built in two units, the second one was bought by De Cadenet who made it running with his name till 1981, scoring a fine third place in the 1976 ...

The circuit of Spa-Francorchamps served as frame to the second meeting of the C.E.R. 2010, with a good 59 cars that entered the track to confirm the present state of health of this championship. As usual there weren't missing pleasant surprises like the Mirage GR7, which entered last year the competition at Silverstone, a lightened version derived from the M6 still mentioned for the first win of the Cosworth V8 engine in the Sports World Championship, and the Cheetah G601, which took part three times in the 24 Hours of Le Mans by the end of the 70's, unfortunately, with lack of success.
The week-end was characterized by a changeable weather, typical of the region, which didn't ...

Monaco’s Historic Grand Prix on the 7 th edition has not betrayed its expectations, devoting to the present public a programme rich in races and events. The novelty requested by the ACM is the cancellation of the class reserved for Formula Junior, to .make space to the two races of the Formula 3 cars built in 1964-1984. This year we have also the presence of a fantastic model of the Auto Union type C, on this occasion it is displayed together with the type D, to which they have devoted two parades during the week-end. Even the yesterday’s names of great manufacturers didn’t fail, among them Richard Attwood and Dieter Quester. Once again, the Principality’s week-end has ...

The Paul Ricard circuit hosted the first round of the 2010 Classic Endurance Racing, as the tradition outlining race of Le Mans Series but, this year the two championships will share the same circuit on three events only (just so Paul Ricard, Spa and Silverstone) with the CER which will complete its own calendar with Monza appointment, during the International European Cup, and the final race of the Paul Ricard during the Dix Mille Tours.
Among the 55 cars which took part in the motor sports racing event, the 1972 Duckham-Cosworth has made a fine display, designed by Gordon Murray for driver Alain de Cadenet and taken onto track on that occasion by Olivier Cazalieres, moreover, gaining a ...

The fourth practice in the championship on the Classic Endurance Racing, occurred on 21 and 22 August on the circuit on Nürburgring, has offered the spectators the chance to see a real jewel: in the paddock, among the 55 entered cars there was a car which made a fine display: it was Howmet TX, designed by Bob McKee and powered with a turbine supplied by the Continental Aviation & Engineering, the only one car having a turbine engine in the motoring history which was able to win a race.
On track, the three test sessions, all ran on the day of Friday, have seen Caron only, in the Chevron B21, being able to keep up with a wild Luco and even to take him away pole for only one tenth of ...

The second race of the Classic Endurance Racing championship, that took place from 8-9 May on the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps, offered some emotions of the good old days to the numerous spectators flocked to see the event. The 55 entered cars fought a battle in all categories, with many new-entries decided to give those series experts a lot of trouble. Thilloy absent, the unlucky protagonist in Barcelona, Luco (Porsche 936 and Nicolet (March 74S) have been competing for the absolute success since the qualifying tests; the two drivers gained the first row with two seconds’ lead over Knapfield, the first of the following competitors.
At the start, the English driver with his ...
